NITROGEN GAS SPRINGS

Nitrogen gas springs are traditionally used in high-speed stamping, injection molding and broad industrial stamping operations or where users need to manufacture dies.

The working principle of nitrogen gas springs is similar to the working principle of regular gas springs.  A nitrogen gas spring is a self-contained cylinder that is pressurized with nitrogen gas which is sealed inside the cylinder. The gas pressure acts on the piston inside the cylinder and provides resistant force. When the gas spring is compressed, the movement of the piston displaces the gas volume resulting in increased gas spring force.

Produt Range
We offer a wide range of models with strokes ranging from 5 mm to 300mm, cylinder diameters from 12 mm to 195 mm and initial forces of max. 18500 daN

Advantages of Nitrogen Gas Springs compared to conventional compression springs

Less Space

A Nitrogen Gas Spring provides as much force as a few conventional compression springs together. Thanks to this, usage of a few nitrogen gas spring instead of many compression springs will reduce the occupied volume, required surface area, reduction of height and thus a smaller die.

Less Height

Compared to conventional compression springs, nitrogen gas springs are having a more compact size but still providing more power. Benefit; compact tool construction thus reduction of production costs.

No pre-load required

Nitrogen gas springs do not need pre-load but are providing the initial force at fully extended position.

Balanced action & equal force

One of the biggest disadvantages of conventional springs is that they do not provide a balanced action and bend after time. This is not the case for nitrogen gas springs. Beside this, nitrogen gas springs can be connected to each other so that they provide a synchronized force and balanced action causing a longer lifetime of the tool.

Adjustable Force

Forces of nitrogen gas springs can easily be adjusted so that the same unit can be used for different power applications.

Repairable

Due to their repairable construction nitrogen gas springs can be re-used.
